The TV station chief morons with nothing better to do than pointless re-brands have been at it again:
03/12 10:34:11 SDT: Service 17728 changed from "Channel 5 HD" to "5 HD"
03/12 10:34:13 SDT: Service 8500 changed from "Channel 5" to "5"
03/12 10:34:17 SDT: Service 13024 changed from "Channel 5+1" to "5 +1"
I'm sure we've been round this loop twice now (perhaps they're referring to their own mental age).

No matter which variant of 5/Five they go for it will always make them sound like fifth (out of four) in the pecking order of the main FTA broadcasters. Perhaps they need to bite the bullet and go extreme left field in a rebrand and call themselves Best (of the Rest) for example.

I watch far more on 5 in recent years than ITV.

It just adds to the confusion. 5 - is it the broadcast channel or the internet stream? Same problem with the rebrand of All 4. Anyone would think it's deliberate confusion
