Add One Letter Game

It's very obscure, but:

Perseverations (14)

My route from Reservations was Overassertion then Conservatories. What was your 15, AF?

It probably isn't valid. I was under the impression that Controversaries was a US variant spelling (to go along with their mispronunciation of the same!) but it may just be a common spelling error. I've seen this spelling enough in US papers/books to have given me that impression though.

When I was at school I thought it was oscoscillator

'Mericans, what do you do with them. They obviously have Heisenberg delusions when they say they will be "with you momentarily".

"Aluminum. It's got a U in it". Sigh.

Do we want a new game of change two letters? This time we change two - no option to only change one.

Yes, I was thinking change two, or add/subtract one and change another. It will spoil your game plan!

No, that was (add/subtract one) or (add/subtract one and change another) or (change two).
So, you can't just add "s" any more, which was your favourite trick, hence BH's comment.
