Assume v. Presume

"Passed away" is an acknowledged euphemism for "died". Staff in the care home I visit have abbreviated that to "passed", which doesn't work for me.

In this case, the either was unnecessary as the alternatives were exclusive.

I used to worry about these distinctions but now I am more relaxed about them. It was clear what Ezra meant, and I would suggest that Either A or B or C be taken as a shorthand for Either A or (Either B or C).

It is true when only one of the alternatives is true, and the rest are all false. It is a symmetric and transitive relation, but is definitely not reflexive!
 
Bit dusty here. But is it from the Saharan Desert or the Sahara Desert?
