Aura Android 14 update now

After about a weeks worth of being on the latest version 1.00.59 the Aura has not done a random reboot or restart
something it would do on occasions and with differing frequency.

However, if while watching the Aura as source I decide to change to TV as source after thirty seconds the Aura will now go into standby
and will also mute the sound.
When long pressing the power button (remote) and selecting OK to power off the Aura it seems to completely shut down, as opposed to going in to Deep Standby.
Previously it would record items in the schedule while in deep standby, so far it has not. It will not respond to a press of the power button (remote) to wake it up,
now I have to go over to the box and press that power button.
It was also noted by another user and confirmed by me that when playing movies/ videos (from USB media on VLC or Kodi both set to audio passthrough) with differing audio
codecs the Aura now doesn't differentiate and everything is being pushed through as Dolby Digital + according to the display on my AVR, 2 channel codecs do not come
through as stereo but default on my AVR to Pro Logic II.
Also noted that while watching live TV and pressing the rewind button to review something you now get a white rotating circle for about 10 seconds, the picture is paused, when the circle
disappears you can then rewind the broadcast to where you want to rejoin, this is slower than it was previously.
The Aura still is prone to pixellation while other devices have no issue with signal.

Humax have still not updated their Humax UK Aura Support Software page to include any details of what features the update provided and what 'fixes' it included.
I have emailed Humax support about the pass-through not passing the correct codecs , no response so far.
I occasionally get stereo sent in place of 5.1 surround and it returns to 5.1 after a while , possibly after a restart but cant confirm. (My Denon amp has a detailed source/output page)
I have tried Kodi again in lieu of VLC and it seems to work ok other than pass-through and I have not had it fail to launch.
TV is much more stable , there is sometimes a pause when switching from another app to it , that was the time when it would lose picture for me, it may be doing a software refresh/cleanup of some sort now.
They have stuck a pure sponsored advert strip in among the other bars and if you accidentally land on it it blares out its content, it cant be turned off like some other bars (Hate it).
I have a suspicion that a factory reset may be needed to get the update settled in, other older Humax boxes had the same pattern and Kodi issues may get resolved. (After setting up all your settings/accounts again!!!!)

Still not available for me but I am now getting 2 or 3 failed recordings daily of series record events with daily shows failing on one day then recording the next and even happening whilst I am watching the same channel they are on with there not being any noticeable issues, sometimes the series record R has vanished from the TV guide but shows still for the next day and if you try to reset it to record just the missing day and you have other shows set for that time it gives you a list of options that includes cancelling the show without the R. Frustration may force me to risk the update if it ever becomes an option for me.

On occasion I have noticed that something that is set for 'series record' which should show as such in the EPG will show as not set.
For example Frasier on Channel 4 if it is set as a series record through the week sometimes if you look ahead lets say a Friday the EPG will show
that no recording is set.
When that happens go into the Recording Schedule and delete it, go back to the EPG and set it again as a series record and that should sort it out.
I think this is more a broadcaster issue rather than an Aura problem.

That is what I usually do in the end, as for it being a broadcaster issue it is odd that when it happens to very popular shows nobody else ever mentions having the issue also you get the "preparing to record whatever" pop up and then it fails , would that still happen if it was a crids issue?
