You have never seen The Hundred then? It is cricket Jim, but not as we know it!
It was a double edged view. "It isn't cricket" has the meaning in British English of not being in the spirit of fair play. But I also used it as a sarcastic dig at the non-traditional forms of cricket - T20, hundreds etc.
 
Really? Perhaps you can now have a go at explaining to me the phrase "teaching your grandmother to suck eggs"? 🙄
