Get the Custom Firmware installed on (both?) -T2s and then post some .TS snips of the issue from a recorded file more accurately?

NB You have still not answered which Region / kit is affected. I am also on Sandy Heath like Owen Smith and might do some C4 HD recordings on my -T2 (although we mostly use our Foxsat) if that is the same region as you (BBC East, ITV1 Meridian HD) to see if I can replicate.

Re-encoding using a compressed format (via a phone camera/mic) doesn't help much with diagnosis.

A .ts file from the custom firmware is the raw data as received over the air, so reveals much more.

CF --- read up on it. Very useful. It may be a bit of a learning curve to start?

I'm less au fait with the -T2 variant, but it will allow unencrypted transport stream HD files to be downloaded on to a computer and then posted here with the fault.
Pretty sure you can't just access the files without the aid of it.

On the satellite Foxsat-HDR there's an extra step needed to stop HD files being encrypted on future recordings and old ones remain encrypted.
AIUI nothing like that is needed with the -T2 and old recordings can be decrypted with the right plug in modules to the CF ... someone will correct me if wrong, I'm sure!
