I have obtained a secondhand FVP 5000t which is set up and working fine. It feeds two additional tvs in other rooms. Is there any way to control the STB remotely via the lan cable using an app / tablet? Thank you for reading.
Why do you think there might be? That's a major piece of functionality that would be sure to be widely heralded. Is there any way to control the STB remotely via the lan cable using an app / tablet?
I'm not sure whether the HUMAX Remote app still works, but it is still available in the Apple App Store, and the images show it linked to a Humax FVP4000T, so it may be worth a try.Is there any way to control the STB remotely via the lan cable using an app / tablet?
If that's the app I've just looked at (and I understand it correctly), it requires an IR transmitter in the phone. Even if you have one, I don't, it defeats the object if you are in a different room.HUMAX Remote app
Based on whatever you can use for HD/HDR-FOX-T2 it was possible to create a PC based remote over LAN for the 2000T. I vaguely recall someone creating an app (don't know what flavour) that did the same . When I got a 5000T I tried the PC version and it sort of worked over LAN. (Some keys couldn't be replicated). It was so long ago, and I didn't need it so never followed it up. And I can't work out/can't be bothered to create an Android app.Why do you think there might be? It apparently works on Wi-Fi Network only.If that's the app I've just looked at (and I understand it correctly), it requires an IR transmitter in the phone. Even if you have one, I don't, it defeats the object if you are in a different room.
I'm confused. That sounds like the Humax Live app which will play live channels and recordings on the device (phone/tablet). Maybe that is suitable for the OP..It apparently works on Wi-Fi Network only.
