Control FVP 5000t remotely

I have obtained a secondhand FVP 5000t which is set up and working fine. It feeds two additional tvs in other rooms. Is there any way to control the STB remotely via the lan cable using an app / tablet? Thank you for reading.

Why do you think there might be? That's a major piece of functionality that would be sure to be widely heralded.

You have alternatives. *If* the handset for the FVP-5000T happens to be RF/Bluetooth rather than IR, obviously the signal will go through walls.

Otherwise, you'll need an IR extender, which can be anything from cheap & cheerful to sophisticated and expensive.

I'm not sure whether the HUMAX Remote app still works, but it is still available in the Apple App Store, and the images show it linked to a Humax FVP4000T, so it may be worth a try.

HUMAX Remote app
If that's the app I've just looked at (and I understand it correctly), it requires an IR transmitter in the phone. Even if you have one, I don't, it defeats the object if you are in a different room.

Based on whatever you can use for HD/HDR-FOX-T2 it was possible to create a PC based remote over LAN for the 2000T. I vaguely recall someone creating an app (don't know what flavour) that did the same . When I got a 5000T I tried the PC version and it sort of worked over LAN. (Some keys couldn't be replicated). It was so long ago, and I didn't need it so never followed it up. And I can't work out/can't be bothered to create an Android app.

It apparently works on Wi-Fi Network only.
