DTR-T2000 Sound just cuts out during live TV

Hi,
This has only just started to happen today. When watching live TV, all of a sudden the sound just stops working...The picture remains, but it just goes quiet. It's not accidentally going into Mute, it just goes silent. If I turn it off/on it comes back, but it then does the same thing again after about 10-15 minutes.
Probably sounds weird, but is there anything I can do to fix it? It's connected to the broadband router directly and has the latest version of the software

Thanks
Steven

More info needed.

Which TV channels? All or some?

Does changing TV channel correct the sound problem? Or not? (Try a variety of TV channels, HD and SD ones).

Are recorded programmes affected?

Have you tried a mains power down, pull plug, wait 5 minutes and then back on? (Is your turn off/on - into standby and back?)

I have the same problem as Steven with the sound cutting out but turning it off and on again doesn't help. I have to do a mains power down, pull plug, waited 2 mins and back on. This has happened twice in the last couple of weeks. Changing TV channel doesn't correct the sound problem.

has the latest version of the software
How did you know that it has the latest software?

The software releases and their details ceased to be announced more than a year ago. Also, like other youview set top boxes, the box's menu only tells you the date of the last attempt to check for an update and not whether an update was installed,. It even changes that date if the update failed due to the box not be able to connect to the internet when the attempt occurred!

The latest reference I can find to the software for DTR-T2000 from youview, and the software from Humax, are:
Component Software - 3.8.248
Manufacturer Software - 32.155.10
Is your software those versions or higher?

It might help if you would gives the details of your setup.
E.g. The DTR-T2000 can output audio via HDMI, SCART/RCA and S/PDIF. Which are you using and how does the sound get to your speakers? Is an amp involved? Are speakers other than the TV's speakers involved?

Do you have multiple outputs connected from the DTR-T2000? e.g. both HDMI and SCART?

For the audio out(s) that you are using are they set to Stereo or Surround in the youview menus?

Which channels has it happened on so far?

Re-turning it off an on, whether that works or not will partially depend on your choice of setting for Standby Mode and whether you allow enough time for it to reach that state. If I remember correctly that can take 6 minutes on the DTR-T2000.

Thanks Luke, I'm away from the Humax today but will check out all your sugestions and post back tomorrow

Just to be clear.. I wasn't intending to suggest any changes but just suggest what would be useful for you to share so it is easier for members of this forum to make constructive suggestions without having to guess and presume so much.

My DTR T2120 has recently started doing the same, since about October I reckon, usually if I'm watching a recording or in chase play and skipping with the 1 minute fast forward jump button. It's always preceded by a millisecond burst of white noise, sometimes it does it a couple of times before I lose audio sync and have to switch off and back on to restore it. I've tried leaving it to see if it resyncs but after 10 minutes gave up and power cycled.

It sometimes does a similar spit of white noise thing whilst watching on demand at the end of each advert without losing sync, then again as the programme cones back on it spits, loses audio sync but a few seconds later it resyncs. Only when watching recordings or chase play does it lose sync permanently but only happens every so often.

It does it on optical direct to hifi amp or soundbar and hdmi via tv to soundbar.

Could this be a bug in an update?

Running 3.8.250 (fb6194) and 32.159.0 on platform config 4900 (d586f305)
