Full install needed (again)

Thanks for this. Our Humax has been playing up for a while now, Start up wizard kept appearing, not finding any HD channels, but as we don't use it very often now, kept putting off trying to fix it.

Ran System Flash followed by fix-flash-packages, and it's as good as new.

Thanks again

Wow. I would never have thought it would fix finding HD channels. I (kind of!) wish one of mine would have this problem.

I don't believe there is any information to suggest one is more reliable than the other. There aren't many vertical RF connectors HDR Fox T2s around, it was a late variant. I have one and it's a pain, if you use custom firmware to reboot it in software it can't receive any channels after the reboot and needs a power cycle. I can cope but best not to go there if you don't need to.

Also it isn't just that the PSU is different, it's connector pinout is not the same so you can't mix and match an old main board with a new PSU or vice versa. Stick to the variant you already have, much better for spares and repairs.
Thank you for your reply - useful to know

Is this the startup reverting to the Installation Wizard you're talking about?
If so, I don't think it's necessary to do a full install, but there are a few, maybe up to ten, questions to answer.
It may be useful to know which version of the custom firmware you're currently on, if it's been recently updated etc.
on latest version of custom f/ware

Is the Auroa not a good device then ? as it's so many years later, would have expected it to have been a good step up, but not reseached it too much yet.
It's an Android based device, unrelated to the HDR Fox T2 firmware. Lots of new firmware and more of it gives plenty of opportunity for more bugs to be written. The act of writing code is the act of writing bugs, they're inevitable.
