How does it know which one to populate it with?

As I said - one has to be selected during the wizard process (and poss after searching for channels). I assume it is from there - it is the identical string

That wizard process is for the HDR-FOX T2 standard tuning. The "it" I was referring to was the tunefix settings. Tunefix and its settings are not part of the standard HDR-FOX T2 tuning.

ah ok - misinterpreted. In that case I'd imagine (assuming it can) tunefix simply looks at the standard settings and works from that; writing its end product inc region to its config file

Magic.

It picks the region with the greatest number of services. Everything else gets deleted. If this isn't what's desired then don't use a Preferred Region and it won't do it.
