Humax FVP-5000T Crashing on Playback

Hi all I have an FVP 500T with a fair few programmes recorded, probably 75% full. When I am playing recordings, I think at the same time as a live recording is taking place I get a message saying the channel is scrambled / unavailable. Then it cuts back to live TV. If you go back in recordings everything disappears and it says there aren't any recordings. A hard reset will resolve the issue, pulling the power and reinstating it. However it will then happen again a few days later. Is there anything I can do without a factory reset that will lose all the recordings?

Hello - just wondering if you found a solution to this problem in the end, or if anyone else knows of a solution? I have experienced the same issue as above - a message appears saying the channel is scrambled/unavailable when playing recordings, and it cuts back to live tv.

Any help would be gratefully received!

As an educated stab in the dark, this sounds like the unit sometimes loses track of its encryption key. A reboot reinstates it. Whether anythign can be done to stop it doing that is anybody's guess, but probably not.

Thank you for replying. Just to be clear so that I know what to try, when you say "reboot", what do you mean?

That looks like a better cause than any I can think up. I was wondering about whether it was all recordings or a specific channel/time etc. A reboot probably wouldn't clear such problems.

What I would mean by a reboot for the 5000T would be turn to standby using the remote. Wait an age for the disk operations to stop, disconnect from the mains, wait a short while, plug back in and wait for the Humax to boot, possibly need to bring out of standby and then see what happens. BH may mean something else.
