Hummy not receiving

I have just bought myself 2 devolo homeplugs, plugged them in and into my BT Home Hub 3 and Hummy Foxsat recorder. To begin with I got two green lighhts on the home plug, either side of an orange light but now all three are green; I assume that's good. Reading these threads, I think that should now work but it doesn't. I go to channel 901-3 on my Hummy for iPlayer and ITV player and get told there is no signal. Am I missing something? I have tried powering down, waiting overnight etc but still nothing. Am I supposed to do something else? I fear I am being, what my five year old would call, a doughnut. All assistance gratefully reveived.

Have you looked in the Network Settings on the Foxsat to see if if it has been allocated an IP address? Have you looked in your router settings to see if the Foxsat is showing up as a connected/attached device?

gomezz, thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that: if I look into the settings the Foxsat is recognising an IP address etc so it seems to be connecting fine just not knowing what to do next. Do we need a Satelite connection at the same time, ours is out at the moment - which is why we are trying to connect to iPlayer. Would that explain it?

On the HD-FOX and HDR-FOX there is a specific "TV Portal" button which takes you to the Internet services independent of the broadcast stream (except that it needs an aerial connection to ensure the system date is correct, otherwise authentication doesn't work). However, if the FOXSAT accesses the catchup services via a satellite channel, you will need the EPG data to be coming in to direct the process of fetching Internet data.

So not having my satelite signal will be a problem, no EPG data?

At least it's possibly better now than originally. Before, you actually needed a signal from BBC1 etc so you could press the red button on it. So, if you were recording a couple of programs and couldn't tune in BBCx, there was no iPlayer either.

Anyone know what combinations of recordings, if any, will prevent you from tuning in channel 901? Don't tell me it's the same ones that exclude BBC1...

etc.

Is there any reason why the internet channels should be affected by what the tuners are tuned to? It sounds illogical to me. Poor design? (Even poorer when they were only accessible via a red button on a specific channel!)

You will have to ask Freesat why access to the home transponder is required. Presumably it's to download some sort of data, similar to what happens when you change the postcode. It's not specific to the Humax boxes.
