Hi guys
I've had my HDR-1000S for about a week and I am very pleased with it.
However when I connect it to my local internet router through my home network it seems to set itself up automatically. I cannot find any way of manually altering the network settings. I don't want it to use the IP address it has chosen and I need to provide it with a password so that it can connect into my homegroup. It connects to the internet with no problem, but my PC cannot see it because it is not part of the same workgroup/homegroup! So how do I access TV recordings stored in it from my PC? And how do you configure the DLNA server so that network media devices can access the saved TV programmes?
I emailed Humax support and a chap called Conor replied to me within an hour. But he simply said that there is no manual network setup menu available. This doesn't make sense, the Humax doesn't know if it is clashing with existing network devices and if it can't become part of your home domain how can you possible do network sharing of the files in it!
Does anyone have any thoughts on how this should work. I'm sure that somewhere on the packaging it mentions DLNA, but I cannot find any menus to configure this, but I guess it must be hiding somewhere!
thanks for any suggestions
