Yeah, but in that case it's L+R+mic, so that's a headset rather than headphones. AV plugs are L+R+composite video.

They all use the same 3.5mm 4 way jack / socket, the headphones I have do have a microphone + switch but the same hardware is used for AV connections and also L+R+selfie trigger (or microphone) on android smartphone headphone sockets, it can be used to control audio players
