Similarly the BBC talks in kilometres not miles. I've yet to see road signs in kms in England.

You can certainly waste it. My smart meter flashes a "kvarh" led every few seconds. Must be the fridge and the freezer. Almost forgot, all those transformers.

Now there's an idea. Get all the idle fatties to pound the treadmills, complete with added generators, and cure two problems. Obesity and energy shortage. I'm surprised some ignorant politician hasn't thought of that one.
