Missing audio on HD recordings

I'm lost as to why the older firmware won't play back sound when the ability to play sound live obviously is present. The only idea I have is that 1.01.09 (or whatever) contains a bug which only shows up with a particular combination of inputs, which only started to be present in real life in June, as opposed to the newer firmware having some additional capability.
 
As mentioned previously, it is strange that they forced another download of 1.02.20 recently - "they" must be privi to some information that we aren't.

Hi Guys, just to clarify (and for anyone else reading the thread at a later date!), having sorted out my corrupted recording (causing the perma-delete issue) installing the latest firmware did indeed fix the audio problem for me.
