Missing Channels

Looks like the elves have been tinkering again at Freesat (or wherever it gets done) as a block of channels has gone missing on my Foxsat-HDR

145 - Really
146 - Quest Red
147 - DMAX
148 - Food Network
149 - HGTV
150 - Quest
151 - Quest +1
152 - Quest Red +1
153 - DMAX +1
154 - Food Network +1

I have restored the channels by removing them from the channel list and then performing a Freesat tune as per previous occasions where channels went AWOL.

I presume this is due to encoding changes again.

Similar happened yesterday with Ch5 and all related channels. No signal. They've moved to DVB-S2.
Article says:
Sky HD, Sky Q, and Freesat HD receivers should update automatically. If Channel 5 or related services such as 5 USA disappear, simply rebooting the receiver should force it to reload the latest channel information.
But neither was the case. A Freesat retune and all good again.

It would (should) have worked overnight with the 3am auto tuning LCN update on our old boxes. More modern ones can cope (allegedly) on the day.

I saw the alert on DigitalSpy and checked / freesat tuned last night as we had a recording scheduled.

NB it is different (imho) to the change of video codec within the same Tp parameters that this thread has been about.

Better broadcasters might wish to dual illuminate to effect such a change with one Tp DVB-S and another DVB-S2?

Probably but I didn't want to risk it as I could have missed another recording today - not back from work in time to sort it if the 3AM reboot hadn't worked.
I should have left the other box untouched as an experiment ;)
