Network Interference on Analogue Sound

Black Hole

May contain traces of nut
An observation to see if it chimes with anyone else:

I use the phono sound outputs on HD1 to feed a pair of powered speakers (the video goes by HDMI to the projector). I was aware of bursts of noise on the sound, but now I realise the bursts correlate with network activity: the are virtually absent when playing live TV (Humax muted), and almost constant when playing a network file.

The phono lead does not run near the network cable (Cat5).

I used to get interference from wi-fi on my old wireless video-sender which use the same 2.4GHz band. I now use a 5.8GHz band video sender and no more interference.

Thanks for that comment - could be the solution I need for some interference which sounds similar. I stopped after finding the 2.4GHz had a problem, and didn't want to throw more money at it at the time
