My opinions:
1. It's lower quality
2. Humax aren't really interested in PVRs any more (although I doubt the site's actually anything to do with them)
3. B@rry's an arrogant smug supercilious hypocritical tw@t
 
This us just after Barry closed down a discussion insulting the contributers* for questioning whether an update to the Aura, one he said would occur in Q2 (after Humax had said Q1), then Q3, was ever going to happen. Humax appear to have swerved an answer - giving the impression of no update. Now he says he will inform us. How?
To mis-quote a 2010 (I think) election stance "I agree with Nick prpr"!

*I was one of the contributers and said "it might be worth treating the Aura as abandonware".
 
If it's for reasons of high dudgeon, why a phased shut-down and not just pull the plug?

With great regret MyHumax.Org forums is giving 5 months notice of closure.

We will be shutting down the forums in February 2026 which will bring us to 15 years of existence. It has been a great 15 years, and unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

We are working on the wind down of these forums, and these are the expected time scales:

  • September: (this) wind down announcement
  • November: Stop user registrations
  • January: Read-only mode (for regstered members)
  • February: Shutdown and archive

We would like to thank everyone for participating in these forums especially, the donors, moderators and the regular contributors.

Perhaps before RO mode, somebody should post that users willing to engage in proper unbiased discussion and debate are welcome over here.

Miracles are possible, I am 100% in agreement with you .

Someone there had an issue with their Aura, they were using an old CRT TV and refused to use the internet. The issue was known and had been cured by an update. I replied to the post telling them they needed to find a way to connect the Aura to the internet to get the update or remain in the dark ages. Barry left my reply up for a couple of days then went and edited it, as he had done before for comments that can in no way be taken as insulting unless you are the most delicate of snowflakes. I PM'ed him and demanded a reason for the editing as I had done in the past without getting a reply adding that I wanted a reply this time rather than him cowardly hiding in the shadows and ignoring my request and he once again failed to reply and banned me :). I also have noticed that when the site is so dead you can hear an echo for a few days a post or 2 will appear from a just joined member asking a question they could easily have found an answer to if they looked, they get replied to maybe with a question but never respond and are never seen again. I am pretty sure they are bogus inventions created to make the site appear to have life and likely made by Barry.

I think that was more aimed at the fantasist Bella2 and her B/S claims of having contact with higher management which also included the head honcho even though he is based in South Korea. Barry removed quite a few of my responses to her frequent lies though they were more deserved :).

It was clear to me that is why I sent this to him yesterday. I do not want to claim credit but was it the final straw?

That is because you ban the long standing members that post the truth. I told you all that Bella2 was a total fantasist and a liar last year. I already asked Marcus at customer support a couple of weeks ago and posted his reply on the other more tolerant site and would have posted it on yours too.......................

That'll be what did it! I seem to have screened Bella2 out of my reading - I don't remember any of the posts! Perhaps it was my bs detector set to ignore mode!
