Package addon help

Can you please refer me to where there are the instructions to enable youtube-dl?

Is there a package that ensures that when a channel update occurs only the favorites are installed? (The idea is to avoid setting up the favorites every time there is a channel update. I thought there was a package for this but I can not find it) From this follows the question: how do I choose the favorite channels. Is the only way to do it via the Humax Menu or is there a package as well?

You're looking in the wrong place - everything to do with Custom Firmware is in the Custom Firmware section of the forum.

If you need instructions how to get started with CF, see https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/quick-start-guide.1301/ (topic pinned at the top of the forum CF section listing).

However, assuming you are familiar with all that, to find out about any particular package there's my index: https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/index-of-package-primary-topics.8005/ (also pinned), or the wiki.

For youtube-dl, the relevant topic includes my guide: https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/yout...other-video-platforms.8462/page-3#post-120326.

For exerting personal preferences over the tuning following a retune there's tunefix, or to restore the recording schedule and favourites lists you can do it manually from WebIF >> Scheduled Events >> Backup/Restore or with auto-schedule-restore.

tunefix might do it - I don't have that package installed at the moment. With it installed, the options will be available via WebIF >> Settings >> Settings for tunefix.

You could always try searching the forums for thread titles[url] containing [url=https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/youtube-dl-download-videos-from-youtube-com-or-other-video-platforms.8462/]"youtube-dl".

As you are using CF, you should install tunefix-update to help deal with channel updates.

For favourites you can use the Backup and Restore function in Webif>Scheduled Events to save and restore your favourites around a channel update, though simple renumbering doesn't affect favourite settings with tunefix-update. This even works if you just do a complete auto retune instead of relying on tunefix-update.

As the Backup and Restore function writes to text files, it's possible to edit a backup file to change the favourites and restore the modified file. This is an advanced usage, but it's the only addition that CF provides for favourites management.
