I am trying to install the customised firmware and I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on what my problem might be.
Here is a subset of my details:-
Humax HDR-FOX T2
Software Version FHTCP 1.02.28
Loader Version a7.30
System ID 80BC.7E00
Update date 26 may 2012
MICOM version 9.3
I have downloaded the Firmware file and the associated text file says:-
Application version: FHTCP1.02.28
Loader version: a7.31 / a7.32
Micom version: 9.3
System id: 80BC.7E00
Update Date: 25 May 2012
I have loaded the firmware file onto a usb pen, formatted as FAT32.
The pen is labeled 'Cruzer Blade 4GB - Scandisk'
I have followed the instructions for installation, and all seems to go well.
No errors. The only thing I noticed is that at the last step, I don't seem to
be able to use the remote control to put the Humax into standby mode
and I have to use the large round button at the front of the Humax itself.
I power the Humax back up, and all seems ok. What I can do at this stage
is the same as before the firmware installation, namely:-
(a) Use the TV Portal to access the internet
(b) On my PC, use FTP to see the files on my Humax. I just see the same
top level folders as before. 'My Photo', 'My Music' and 'MyVideo' and
any files held in those folders.
From MY PC, I am unable to Telnet to the Humax, either by the built in
telnet program ( Windows 7 ), or by the PUTTY program. Also, I cannot
access the Humax from my browser using my Humax's IP address as
instructed in the documentation. I can of course ping from my PC to
the Humax.
At first I thought the problem might be to be with my router's configuration.
I have a Cisco Linksys E1200 and before this exercise, had my two PCs connected
and communicating with each other. For this exercise, I disconnected one of the
PCs and replaced it by the Humax.
I am not convinced that the firmware has actually installed, but how can I tell for
sure ? Is there anyway I can tell by just using my Humax/TV ? The only thing I
have noticed in the the various threads is a different page shown when you enter
the Humax TV Portal, but I just see the same page as before.
I would be grateful if anyone can help.
