Problem with creating account on wiki.hummy.tv

Hi,

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask but I thought at least someone here might know the answer!

I am trying to create an account on wiki.hummy.tv - mainly to correct grammatical errors in the article on Multi-mode Recording. However I get the following error:

CAPTCHA verification failed due to internal error: http

I've tried this multiple times in both Firefox and Edge but the result is the same.

Any ideas please? How can I report this / get it fixed?

Thanks
Steven

I don't think he's been seen for about 3 years. I had to delete the recent spam, presumably caused by a compromised password of one particular user.
mainly to correct grammatical errors
There are loads of those all over the place, as well as rather odd punctuation and sentence structure. I started but gave up, for various reasons.

Phrases such as "silk purse" and "turd polishing" come to mind.

When it comes to fine points of style (including grammar), there will be differences in opinion. Try not to be too picky, otherwise tweaking will never end.

Ah OK I see! I assume there aren't any more administrators then?

Yeah that's what I meant - commas instead of full stops, effecting instead of affecting etc.

What can I say, except I'm a grammar pedant?!? I just thought I could spare 15 minutes of my time correcting obvious grammatical errors (without actually changing the content as such) to make the article read better.

I'm a user admin but not a system admin i.e. I can't see or do anything with the server itself.
This is on @af123's infrastructure (as is this forum) but that's all I know. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wiki account creation process is bust for similar reasons as the forum Direct Messaging is, but I don't know.

A Sisyphean task: you might make that article read better, but what about the rest (although how you go about second-guessing the author's intentions escapes me – 'correcting' things in your view could result in subtle alterations of nuance)? Try to adopt a 1960's progressive attitude: the message is more important than the presentation. [Spit! Did I really say that??]

Where effort really would be appreciated is plugging the information gaps!

Great, see you in AvP then!

One example is:

"The Humax PVR has various ways of determining the start and stop times of it’s recordings, A schedule entry that is entered manually will not be changed by the Humax in any way, However if a new event is scheduled by picking it from the Electronic Program Guide, There are two modes of operation that can effect the actual times used for recording."

This should be:

"The Humax PVR has various ways of determining the start and stop times of its recordings. A schedule entry that is entered manually will not be changed by the Humax in any way. However if a new event is scheduled by picking it from the Electronic Programme Guide, there are two modes of operation that can affect the actual times used for recording."

Very minor alterations I grant you and with no change to the meaning, but the second paragraph is grammatically correct.

I suppose it's irrelevant really if access to the Wiki isn't working!
