Recording of non-freesat mode channels

Ditto. I can only think GLT accidentally corrupted it.
He did change it from

That was because the link was invisible im my (Chrome) browser but visible when I edited the post until I deleted the MyHumax,org/

That's weird. Nothing to do with this forum (not deliberate, anyway), and note that the link in post 11 works (only the link text is changed, not the link itself). Maybe something is filtering it your end?

As the OP apparently hadn't read the thread. If he had he should have realised that the only way to get at the unencrypted recordings made in non-freesat mode was to copy to USB, and use a linux booted machine to remove the non standard characters. In the case of the files in the thread that were much larger than 4GB the drive used needed to be EXT3. The Foxsat wasn't like this originally, the crude protection was added at a later stage, guessing at the behest of Freesat. Out of interest as an experiment I will post the original link and report if it is visible.

EDIT Link visible (as it was when first posted) will come back later to see if it survives.

Thanks Graham. Always nice to get the full story. Thought I had mentioned earlier I had Raydons firmware on my Foxsats. Anyway regarding the failure to update my second FS with the Newster patch I found the first FS had renamed the patch file with <name>. DONE and added a log file to the USB flashdrive, so I reformatted the drive and copied the original file over again and it worked. Really would be nice to get the existing HD files unencrypted but I am just thankful to be able to record new ons unencrypted. Many thanks again.

Thanks Graham. I am still a bit f a novice with this sort of thing. How do I enter that line in telnet? Can't see anything that kicks up telnet from Raydons web browser.

You need a telnet client package on the Foxsat and if not already enabled enable telnet in Windows (Add Windows facilities in control panel. No point now in using that particular command) as you have the patch already on both but worth setting up as it's handy for all sorts of diagnostics.

Once setup open a command window and telnet yourboxIPaddress. That should open a Foxsat-HDR prompt.

This thread indicates the sort of uses telnet has once set up.

Still visible - very - strange entire end of post from Bingo was totally invisible at least in Chrome. I should have looked using another browser like Firefox.
