Recordings break at 3:30 AM

The foxsat wakes up in the middle of the night to carry out various housekeeping activities. Checking for software updates, channel changes, building chapter thumbnails etc. This requires access to the freesat home transponder. Only way out I can think off is leave it on on the nights when you want to record overnight.

Good Idea, any idea though if a recording reservation takes precedence over a watch reservation (not something I ever tested) ? Assuming the OP has the correct loop cable you could of course make sure the watch reservation is for a channel in the same frequency band and polarisation as the recording. If only 1 tuner is actually connected then a channel sharing same transponder as recording should be safe.

Leaving the machine switched on did work.

It seems it's happy to interrupt an unmonitored recording, but not if it thinks someone's watching.
