Red Ring still getting things wrong, blue LED when in standby

I haven't had a recurrence of incorrect blue LED yet, the one I observed may have been a one off. This does seem to be improved compared to previous versions.
 
Well, mine is showing the red ring, unfortunately recording ended several hours ago.
Took a look at the log file, unfortunately nothing has been logged since Sept 12 21:30 (presumably when I downloaded the update).
Went to the settings page to turn the log back on, the text is misleading "Enable debugging (more log messages)?" as it seems that when it is off you get NO log messages. Yes, OK, I know that some is more than none, but the implication is different.

As for any other information about what might have caused the problem... according to TV diary
The box was turned on manually, we started a replay. During replay, a recording started. At the end of replay, the recording was still in progress. We continued to watch live TV, when the recording finished, the red ring didn't revert to blue. The ring is still blue several hours later (but there have been no recording or replay events to change it).
Not surprisingly, manually starting and stopping a record returns the ring to blue.
 
Had my first 'blue ring' incident this morning since I updated RedRing last week. It was on HDR [Green].
I manually bring the unit out of standby when I get home from work. Later in the evening it correctly initiated a timer recording of 'The Gadget Man'. I have it set to auto decrypt, which it did. On going to bed I placed the unit in standby. The ring went orange and the HDD powered off as expected.
I have a Disable OTA event set for the default times that 'runs' every night.
This morning, the unit was in standby, no HDD spinning and just showing the clock. But it had a blue ring.
As I have said before, the unit behaves itself, but occasionally will show a blue instead of an orange ring.

I came home to a Blue ring yesterday when the HDR was in standby. I have a 16:20 to 16:40 timer event (not an EPG reminder) and it would have been the standby after this which produced a Blue ring.

On the basis of three obervations on two boxes, the culprits now appaer to be going into standby when there wasn't a recording active.

I've had another Blue LED in standby occurence, came home from work yesterday and there it was. This would have been from my 16:20 t 16:40 on timer.
 
I think it would be worth replacing your 16:20 t 16:40 on timer with a daily 'Reminder', reminders seem more stable that power On / power Off timers
 
I was thinking using a Reminder may also solve a 'blue-ring' problem, the main reason for replacing an on/off time with a reminder is that the former tends to cause problems with the Humax going into standby properly when the Humax removes one of the on/off pair for some unknown reason
 
Both my boxes have the OTA 4.20 -4.40 timer set up so maybe that is where the problem is, rather than Red Ring.

Do others experiencing the 'Blue Ring problem' also have this set up?
 
The standard OTA defeat uses a reminder, not a timer on/off. Only a reminder or a record operation is sufficient.
 
i have a wake up / sleep every day 15.00-15.15 . I don't seem to see blue rings anymore, I don't look specially. redring2.14
 
This morning (at bout 07:00), I looked at the Humax and wondered why the ring was red. Turns out it was OK because early morning F1 qualifying (05:55 to 07:35) was recording.
However, when turning it on and off to see what was going on, I ended up with a blue ring. I then turned it on and off again and the ring fixed itself. On the off-chance that it may give any clues, here is the log.

Funny that watching the same recording it seems it does not progress beyond 1:06. The progress bar stays there but the video still played for the last half hour. Might be related?
