Regular crashes on specific channels

My HDR-FOX T2 cf 1.03.12 appears to have taken a dislike to commercial channels. It runs and records without problems on BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4, both SD and HD, and Channel 5. But when I switch to ITV1 and Channel 4 SD or HD it crashes within approx 1 minute. This behaviour loop repeats after self-rebooting. Recordings on these channels also fail.

I had hoped to fix the problem by installing the latest cf mod HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.12_mod_3.14. The update was reported as successfully installed, however I'm not sure the firmware upgrade was succesful judging by the attached screenshot and the fact that I can't install the Advanced Web Interface using telnet or the simple web interface.

The machine had been working fine since the original cf upgrade some 5 years ago. Looking through the pinned posts about known crash issues I can't see anything that matches my issue, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

The Customised Firmware does not change the underlying Humax firmware level which that screen is showing.
The CF level is shown during boot up on the Orange VFD display.

You should not need to reinstall the webif if you had it working previously, what are you trying to do and what messages are you seeing.

Are/ were you using detectads on the commercial channels/

Thanks for your reply. To answer your question, my objective was to stop the crashes on certain channels. I hoped to achieve this by reinstalling the existing CF using the Web Interface. This made no difference.

As part of the reinstall process, I got a message on the basic web interface, saying that the CF had been successfully installed and inviting me to install the Full Web Interface (see screenshot 1). I clicked on Download and Install the Full Web Interface but got a message to say this had failed (screenshot 2). I also tried the same thing using the Administration Menu but this also reported a failure (screenshot 3). Incidentally this screenshot does confirm that the latest CF mod is installed (3.14).

I then installed the latest CF mod (3.14) via USB. This also made no difference to the crashes. And I now have the additonal subsidiary problem that I am still unable to install the Full Web Interface

So I have:
  1. Installed the latest CF mod 3.14
  2. Been unable to install the Full Web Interface
  3. Made no progress in resolving the crashes on certain channels
I was previously using detectads on the commercial channels.

What is the result when you boot into "safe" mode using "safe" from the "A D M I N I S T R A T I O N M E N U"?
