My HDR-FOX-T2 continues to give me great service after all this time, and the customised firmware has made it a great asset. But when you have a UHD TV, an extra set of HD channels that you get on Freesat becomes tempting. I had a dish installed yesterday, and bought the Freesat 4k recordable box. The intention is to run Freeview and Freesat services side-by-side, each connected by HDMI into my UHD TV.
I was surprised to find that either of the remote controls for the Hummy and the Freesat 4k box seem to control both boxes simultaneously, or at least a subset of their respective functionalities. It's quite irritating actually, because you can never predict what the state of either box will be when you switch over to its HDMI port. There is a way to change the HUMAX remote's frequency by holding "0" and ENTER together for about 10 seconds. You then have a choice of 6 settings. I've tried all 6. Not a jot of difference. The Freesat box has a similar offering. I've tried all those as well. So I'm guessing that there must be some code embedded in the IR signal (maybe a device id ?) that both boxes share and cannot be overridden.
Anybody know anything about this ?
