Series Record Difficulty

Hello,
ITV HD, Channel 4 HD and Channel 5 HD series recordings never work. They do the first one, but not the rest. Its like you've programmed a single recording. Have three Freesat boxes that all do the same. Series schedual recordings for SD versions of these channels work and the BBC HD channels work.
I've had this issue on Freesat for years actually, but worked around it so never got myself together enough to ask for any opinions. Then read a comment in another thread (didn't make a note of which, sorry) that made me think maybe it's self inflicted and there is an easy fix. I had assumed it was a Freesat problem, given all my boxes do it, but then why are others here not reporting the same difficulty?

My set up has one Freesat HDR waking up at 8am and going to sleep at 11:30pm. Set to the Freesat info channel 999 for minimal buffer activity (is this my downfall).
A second Freesat HDR wakes at 7pm and then sleeps at midnight, again on Freesat info 999.
A third that is used to playback recordings from boxes one and two. So doesn't spend much time playback live broadcasts.

The comment I saw said something along the lines Humaxs left on one channel for extended periods can have schedual recording problems.
My current plan, as Freesat HDRs one and two are installed together without a connected TV, is to to take a screen to them and program some reminders each day to switch channels every few hours.
Before I build up a sweat or do myself an injury carrying a TV to them, can anyone say off the top of their heads if I'm on the right track?

Incidently why on the WebIF or RS portal can you not make a manual reservation for a reminder, just a recording? That applies to both Freesat HDR and HDR T2.

Thank you for reading.

That is true of the HDR-FOX, I don't know whether that it is true of the FOXSAT-HDR.

Presumably it was thought there would be little point for the RS. WebIF seems like an omission, if it's true (I can't check right now).

It isn't true on the Fox T2. You can perfectly well set a reminder using the WebIf. I haven't checked RS. You can on RS too.
Don't know about Foxsat as I don't have access to one.

Not noticed any major issues with my Foxsat-HDR recordings. Certainly nothing this year that I can recall.

I have AR linked recordings set for the HD versions of BBC One East, ITV Anglia, C4 Southeast and C5. Almost never record SD and nothing set currently.
It is possible for other Nations/Regions of all but C5 to be different to mine (although not all that likely).

Mine goes to standby every night (no auto tuning / channel rename updates otherwise) and is switched on when wanting to view it. Just left on the channel it was last on/recording. Nor do I run RS or housekeeper.

Not sure that recording to 0.ts a HD or SD or Data channel (999) will present a different cpu overhead. I find that's decrypting new recordings and deleting them in that Humax time-consuming way it has.

LCN 999 = home transponder so where the main epg lives. EPG iirc is updated from that overnight condition whenever 'Guide' is pressed (schedule red gets the HDD cached copy displayed immediately). So maybe the boxes are working with an old copy from 0300 wakeup? For whatever difference that might make.

Now/Next as used to trigger AR is cross carried on all freesat TV (and radio?) channels... so I'd expect it on LCN999 as well. That BBC recordings are OK suggest that it is.

All the broadcasters have the occasional <male chicken up> with Accurate Record (C5 particularly will record multiple repeats rather than just the next one wanted in a series at times).

via WebIF there is no way to set a daily (or otherwise) reservation that isn't a recording...
One minute minimum.
Of course such a recording doesn't change the watched (wake up) channel to the recording channel if another tuner is free... (Proved by my setting a 1 minute on C4 while watching BBC 1 with no other recordings under way, 28MB file according to WebIF, and the front panel display).

I'd certainly be:
1. checking the live TV signal meter on the 'rogue' boxes for the problem channels and home Tp...
2. trying a.n.other channel to wake up to on one box to compare what happens cf the other on 999

update
Set one Freesat HDR to change between BBC One and Two every three hours. The other still set to 999.
programmed the new series of Fireman Sam to record all week on both.
Purely for testing purposes you understand.
