Strange Crash And Behaviour

I have started a new thread because I don't know which package to attribute this to. I am not even certain that it is related to CF. Please move if appropriate.

On Sunday night I brought HDR1 out of standby (using remote), to access via webif.

I am using:

Web interface version: 1.0.11-4 (Lighttpd)
Custom firmware version: 2.21 (build 1897)
Humax Version: 1.02.32 (kernel HDR_1.02.32)

I could get no access so I switched to the HDR on the TV to find it was asking me to select a language and the word "Wizard" appeared on the front display.

After going through the setup process, manually retuning, and setting up the network, webif was working again ( I thought). And I ran the fix flash packages diagnostic.

When I went to restore the schedule, I found that the last auto-backup was on the 22nd, which was the night before I installed the lighttpd package.

No auto backup has run since that date (I was waiting to check this morning before posting). It may have no connection.

Equally, I had been experimenting with new Android apps to access the HDR media during Sunday.

As far as I can tell everything else is working normally, though I am not familiar enough with the logs to get anything from them. I can post some of the logs on request, or run any special diagnostics to shed light on what might be wrong.

That's just the initial installation wizard - same as you get if you restore factory defaults. It's not common, but does happen that the box randomly defaults. Nothing to be concerned about (not much, anyway).

Thanks BH, but there is still the issue of the auto backup of of schedules not working. That is part of the protection against OTA / DSO issues. I have no idea which part of CF takes care of that.

Update:

The auto backup has not worked again overnight.

Any thoughts?

Thanks. Sounds like a general problem. I was about to RMA and reinstall. You have saved me all that hassle.

I haven't installed lighttpd but the /mod/webif/cgi-bin/backup/backup.jim file is missing.
Indeed the whole contents of the /mod/webif/cgi-bin/backup/ directory have vanished.

That would do it! It has been moved to /mod/webif/html/backup/
Fixed version of webif will be along later following testing.

Is the rest of the stuff in /mod/webif/cgi-bin/ redundant then? Or not yet?

A quick edit of /mod/etc/anacrontab has restored normal behaviour for me.

Not yet. Components that were implemented in SSI were rewritten and moved but there are still a few things in cgi-bin.

Latest webif seems to have fixed problem.

Thanks af123.
