Strange scheduling with repeated programs - native Series Link or Remote Scheduling effect?

On rare occasions BBC 1 Scotland is showing the same series as the English Regional Variants but is a week out in the episode shown. If you set a series epg from say an English region the Scottish episode gets scheduled as well. Of course if already have a recording in the same slot you get a mysterious recording clash message. There's a number of reports about this on the various Humax forums.
 
But... but...

As has been well advertised, it is not advisable to have multiple regions tuned unless you take very specific precautions - and an awareness of potential series linking problems is one of them.
