TVDB.com Integration

Having read and can make little or no sense of what TVDB integration is or does, could I please ask the more experienced in this forum to shed some light on the subject and explain what this is about, how it is used and to what purpose.

PS when I enabled the function it appeared to crash the box, but I am not sure if it was a crash as it is not logged as such.!

Start by reading this long standing thread and if you have further questions ask on that thread.

I rarely use the function and it adds little value for me.

I have read this thread as you kindly point out, it makes no sense to me so I will pass on it.

The intent is to augment the limited information in the broadcast programme information from a crowdsourced database of programme information.
The problems include:

• The matching process is inexact
• The database is not always complete and correct especially for new series and very long series.
• If you use it to rename programmes it can cause more problems than it solves.
