Thanks for the info Chris. Looks like a non-starter then will have to check out Get iPlayer.

It's worth remembering that Get iplayer defaults to listing only TV programmes, to list radio enter :-

get_iplayer --type=radio

There are currently 1347 TV files and 3393 radio files

I tried out the Windows version of Get iPlayer. Quite good. After opening the programme and updating/ loading the catalogue if you the select the 'Web PVR Manager' shortcut, a second command prompt opens, followed by your default browser complete with a Get iPlayer GUI. From the browser it is easy to set up your searches and download programmes, with no command line knowledge necessary. I was happy about this as I have never enjoyed fiddling around with MS DOS.
