webif - auto-decrypt renaming programmes

Is there any reason why when I run auto-decrypt on the top-level My Video directory that programmes are renamed? So for example "Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special" was renamed to "1_2._Bucking!_Mammy" after decrypting. The new name appears to be extracted from the first line of the programme information text but I'd expect the original recording name to be kept. This also happened with a recording of the film "I Am Number 4" which got renamed to "Sci-fi_adventure" which again is the start of the first line of the programme information text, this is very irritating - any answers?

Thanks! I figured it was a bit strange. I've just set up the CF on a new HDR box so have been playing with the flags so maybe I I did something strange. Contents of auto.log show that the filename changes but perhaps it was a combination of decrypt and shrink. I've switched off shrink for the time being and will keep monitoring.

<<Was going to paste the contents of the auto.log here which shows the rename happened but I can't yet as I haven't been on the forum long enough!!!>>

I'll leave dedup on until I do some more recordings (some set for a few minutes) then try disabling dedup and report back. Thanks.

I'm also using undelete - could this possibly cause a problem for dedup as files will appear again in the [Deleted Items] folder? Seems odd though.

I agree with xyz321 and Ezra Pound that this appears to be dedup renaming. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a log available on the webif tracing dedup actions.

I'm not sure if Dedup is included in an auto.log, if you have auto-dedup enabled, you need to disable it, here is an example of what it is doing:-

Given that you wanted auto-decryption, but ended up with auto-de-duplication, - you may have fallen into the trap made by two items beginning 'auto-de...' appearing next to one another in the OPT+ menu. I have done this myself, as auto-dedup appears first on the list, it's quite easy to mis-click on it when aiming for auto-decrypt. The results were indeed alarming at first sight ...
