What format video files will it play?

I have a pal with one, and I want to transfer a mini series from my T2 to his HDR-1000s.

Will it play the .ts files (CFW) from a usb stick, or should I change them to avi or mpg etc?

I tried it today with a HD .ts, The Escape Artist, with no problems. I'll try some SD and HD divx files and report back.
