I did a factory reset this morning and it appears to have solved the problem for me.

I've got the same problem as well. It started on Wednesday after the box did an automatic re-tune for channel changes.

The IC may well be stuck to the pcb during manufacture. The best way to remove it is one leg at a time. Use de-solder braid to remove the majority of the solder then heat the individual pins with a fine tip and use a pair of fine tweezers to bend the heated leg upwards when it is free.

Personally I would like to see it as a permanent fixture. This year there was less than 2 weeks (during peak holiday season) between requesting donations and the target being reached. If the same thing happens next year many who would have liked to donate will be denied the opportunity. There...

Downloaded custom firmware, fan and HDD temperature both ok. Interestingly the fault has not reoccurred since downloading the firmware although it was rebooting about twice most evenings. I think I am but to be honest not sure. From the home page - select package management - select available (from installed/available/upgrades) then use install button on the right hand side of the package description. The result every time is as I posted above.

I've just loaded the custom software but am having problems trying to install the additional packages. Whatever I try to install I get a similar error message as below >>> opkg install sysmon wget: bad address 'hpkg.tv' Installing sysmon (1.2.2) to root... Downloading...

Thanks for your helpful information. Any ideas why it should be intermittently rebooting? I've disconnected the network and done a full reset although I haven't reformatted the hard drive yet.

My cooling fan has stopped working. Does anyone know where the 12V fan supply is derived from? I've checked and the supply is absent. With the current hot weather the unit intermittently reboots although it seems fine on cooler days.

I have a Sony KDL-37V5810 and have no problems. What software version is your Sony TV running?

Full EPG returned last night. I don't know why I hadn't tried a second retune yet or anything else, a complete mystery.
