Everything I have read suggests that early AAC at half the MP2 bitrate is "equivalent" quality. So it'll be a relatively minor audio difference, if any? ITV sound
ITV stereo, not surround, has always been an issue of their Playout contract and the need to throw money at that (according to knowledgeable, now retired people I trust on DigitalSpy). Although some there suggest it's a Dolby licensing cost issue for ITV. Either way... stereo only. That... -

It so annoys me to get 'repeats' within the same scheduled recordings. That I have to sit through until we finally twig we have seen them. Ditto for the 'related' progs to the main show we record. If I want the 'related' show I'll set it to record myself thank you Broadcaster. Surely last... -

HDR1000S failing to record
28th was actually 1h 29 ish long (when we watched it). I took the timings scheduled from Radio Times (which still says 1h 15). My recording included some of the News programme (only 15 minutes though). So ITV got it wrong as far as DSat was concerned (Anglia West at least). ;) 29th Celebrity...- Rodders53

Correction. (But should that be only Humax boxes are affected?) There is no outcry on AVForums or the 'other' Humax forum about this. Only on here and DigitalSpy (possibly from the same affected parties, and maybe a few others)? I don't believe its endemic and any more that normal...- Rodders53

Nope. It certainly is transmitting AR (on ITV1 Anglia East for me). Albeit not (always) correctly. My -HDR recording of last night's Celebrity (2100-2215 scheduled time) started Mon Nov 27 21:01:50 2023 and ended Mon Nov 27 22:30:50 2023 which is an overrun of 15 minutes into the News...- Rodders53

I'd urge you to install the Custom Firmware on both your HDR-Fox-T2's. The reboot issue is likely unrelated, but the CF diagnostics tools will be more useful than reverting to the stock firmware. Our Foxsat decided to lock up on a decoder and produce no sound (but perfect pictures) the other night and needed a mains reset, with less than 10 minutes before a 'vital' recording was about to happen (discovered by going to standby and back on in an attempt to fix the sound). The simple satisfaction of fixing a faulty device? I fixed an old 2-way saddle-clamp wired amp - replacing the psu faulty electrolytic that gave the hum bars mentioned earlier, way back in the late 80s/early 90s... that same amp was left in the loft of my last home in 2016 when we moved. Your expensive brand new meter has an 'antenna power' option :RTFM: Section 3.2 (5V, 12V and 24V options). THAT powers the masthead. Use it. Simples. 11 V from a 12V nominal 50mA amplifier draw is low (imho) suggesting poor DC conductivity in the cable? A DMM can measure ac ripple - but not...- Rodders53

Repeat at the OUTPUT of the amp in the loft, powering the amp via the meter (section 3.2 of manual says it does provide that). Or just repeat measurements downstairs with the psu-splitter removed first as a start on diagnosis of this problem. It may be something like AC ripple from the PSU...- Rodders53

Raydon 4.1.3 compatibility
The fact the 'other' foxsat programme where I asked sidecar to generate a new .nts plus the .hmt file does do the x2 etc.,. trick play just fine suggests that there is some fundamental difference(s) between the two, to my little brain. (The .ts file is unmodified).- Rodders53
