Thanks Brian, I had forgotten what a friendly forum this is :)
If the title could be changed to "WebIf - alternative styling ideas" I would be most grateful.
Wish we could edit/move posts as in hindsight I'd have rather given this one a better (i.e.: more clear) title or put it in the WebIf thread. Oh well, you live and learn.
I agree that's quite a nice view, but again I want to neaten it up, get more to fit without my eye having to scan around so much and make the tables less 'defined'. I'd also want to be able to switch between channels from this view, without having to go back.
Perhaps I'll tinker with that too...
I love the functionality of the web interface, but just cannot get to love the look! I find the EPG especially difficult for my eyes to pick out what I want.
Anyway, I've been tinkering with the CSS for half and hour, and have come up with the following:
Only for my own use, and I really...
Ps. I've probably waffled on far to long on this thread. Sorry all!
I am looking forward to seeing this new version and for (hopefully) the wonderful custom firmware in time.
Black Hole, quite happy not to agree 100% (that would be boring!) but let me expand on a few items briefly to try to explain why. Not in any particular order I'm afraid.
BTW, I still like the product, I just want perfection and see no reason not to strive for it. :)
FF / REV implementation...
Yes, its in the loft
Great product once customised, although still not quite there in interface terms and showing its age.
However, this is after third-party customisation. I'm talking end-user products without needing to be hacked - ie: the AppleTV is a great product once hacked, but...
Hey, don't get me started on Sky :D My list of what's wrong with Sky+ is even longer!
I understand Freeview is limited by the standard, but that doesn't make it right :)
God I sound preachy today! Ha - don't mean to be!! I'm passionate about software (I'm a developer) and hate it when what's...
Hi
I'm going by the details on the Humax site and the screenshots, which look almost identical to that of the T2. Of course, I'd love to be proved wrong :)
I'll happily expand on my reasoning, but it'll have to wait until later to give a proper thoughtful reply as at work right now.
I *do*...
Physically it looks different, but operationally and functionally it looks almost identical.
I was hoping that after all this time some work would have been done on the EPG and general functionality, which are both severely lacking.
Luckily the competition also gets it wrong, and at least...
Looks almost identical to the T2, except the display.
I was hoping for an improvement to the hopeless software and EPG but this looks no different.
Disappointed :(
Is it down?
If I navigate to http://rs.hummypkg.org.uk I get "cannot connect" error.
I notice I have Registration Status: inactive on my Hummy. If I try re-registering I get:
Using email address: xxxxxx@xxxxx.xxxx
Registering with remote scheduling server.
Sending TBL_RESERVATION schedule...
I had this too - all the BBC channels with poor reception as 1,2 etc and good ones as 800,801,...
I did the trick of doing another auto tune and cancelling it immediately (to clear all channels). Then I added each MUX in turn that I wanted. Took less time than an auto tune anyway :)
Thanks. It keeps taking me to the signup page. I must be missing a link somewhere!
Nope! Plenty of links to make me download unwanted stuff, but no firmware. :(
Am I being dim? Downloaded all of the previous firmwares, but this one keeps taking me to "4shared" which requires signup - not something I can do.
I must be missing the obvious place where it is hosted, or if this is now the only place, is there an approved (i.e.: clean) torrent?
Please, please can you put an option for the EPG to stop the inline scroll. It makes it very difficult to navigate and wastes screen real-estate (limits me to 12 channels, when I want to see 20+). The EPG on the direct web interface is perfect!
