No need. The CF fixdisk option (from the Maintenance Mode menu) is as non-destructive as they come. Anything you lose will not have been available for copy.- Black Hole

If you want to keep existing recordings, you might find you need to. The key point is that Windows will not understand the HDR-1100S's file system, and could wreck it. Suitable for PVR use? Choose with care. That is one possibility I advise for HDR-FOX, but I have no idea whether it would work for 1100S. It is possible your drive isn't actually faulty, it might just need a clean up. I doubt the Humax menus offer anything in the way of a clean up short of...- Black Hole

A factory reset to cure a motherboard hardware fault? That seems optimisic! Yup. Nonetheless, if unsure one should always work down the list of potential cures starting with the least invasive. So not the same fault then.- Black Hole

Well, there's clearly something terribly wrong with the installation. It's a sledge hammer, but if you can bear to do it I suggest ripping up and reinstalling. WebIF >> Diagnostics >> CFW Reset- Black Hole

Crop fails on manual use of Detect Adverts
"Normally"? Normal under what circumstances? The only reason to make the Bookmarks menu item unavailable is if the recording is somehow incompatible with having its bookmarks edited (including adding new ones). That might be the case if there is no .hmt file.- Black Hole
