  Thanks Damian. Watching recordings on my iPad is just part of what I'm looking to do. I also (mainly) want to browse the recordings from the iPad and just play/pause/skip them on the TV or hi-fi (ie effectively using the iPad as a remote control).

  I think it's under Menu > Edit Channels, then you tick all the channels you don't want, then click Delete.

  Hi. I'm definitely going to look into the custom firmware but, meanwhile, copying and pasting the location into VLC works a treat. Thanks for all your help.
