I take it you're not familiar with the sand-boxing iOS does (especially older versions)! First, the video file in question would have to be copied from Photos to Files, and then from Files there would be multiple ways to access over-the-network storage. But when the iPad in question has a mere...
In the particular instance, I was trying to get a 6GB file off an iOS 13 iPad onto a PC. In the end I AirDropped the file to my iOS 16 iPad, and from there to an exFAT card.
There are so many similar examples out there, especially on cookery programmes. (I paraphrase) "No more than eight to ten minutes"; "If you can't get xxx, yyy will do just as well" [to which I say, if it will do just as well, use that in the first place].
While investigating problems I am having moving video files around, I came across the following information which might be common knowledge (not to me!) but useful nonetheless.
According to this Seagate info, the following applies to iPadOS 16 and later, i(Phone)OS 17 and later:
I'm not sure...
The SSD I've been thrashing is still running, so I'm not sure that's the case any more. Certainly when the write guarantee is of the order thousands of terabytes, there seems to be little left to criticise... except they are very expensive per byte.
If you would like to point out where exactly...
I can't understand how you correlate "longer and longer to boot" with the PSU. If the PSU were faulty, it would probably not boot at all, or be unstable (eg reboot multiple times before settling down).
Where are these "much discussed"?
Yes
Doesn't seem very likely, but obviously possible
Factory reset won't affect the firmware, but a good thing to try never the less (in case it's a database corruption causing the problem).
That's significant. Nonetheless, try what I suggested (post 27) and report back.
