Still trying to i.d this woman. I’m not entirely sure what this Middleton person looks like. There is a Sarah Gilbert working on vaccines at Oxford.. rather sweet but probably a bit old at 58… I mean, old enough to be a credible partner for many of the sad males on here (I speak for myself of...
Joint IEEE/AMA Conference on Deleterious Effects of Cell Phone Radiation on Health and Intelligence, keynote speakers Karen from Buffalo and Matt from London? :cry_:
All I ever wanted was freedom of movement. Also wine, coffee, fresh spaghetti..
Only upside is, my orders from Amazon.FR may or may not be VAT-free. Not helpful if they eventually default on pensions and the lottery prize is a baguette.
This is where having Le Monde as your home page comes in. Bit safer than Karen on Facebook.

That was my understanding. If we survive into the new year I'm going to look at a generic box, perhaps a Zgemma.
I have two other programmes in the series, recorded after the first, which the invaluable custom firmware stopped from being encrypted. I found an SD version of Vienna: City of...
I think just Travels with Vasari, Opera Italia 27/05, and Elgar: the Man Behind the Mask. I lost Vienna: City of Dreams which was on the Hitachi USB drive.
Bit late now, but I had to run the TV5 Monde recordings through Handbrake. VLC was ok, but "Convert for streaming" didn't work for...
I agree with Black Hole and EEPhil. These things are somewhat subjective. I don't think there is a way to calibrate the Philips TV I use for everything.
As for SD quality, after reading a Black Hole post , I tried scraping some missed SD episodes off the DTR-1000 HDD. This worked, and they...
Sorry. I've just checked again. The episodes of HDM are clearly flagged UHD. The converted quality may, as you say, be adequate for playback on a phone. I've no idea why Francesco's Venice looked so bad.
I'm afraid I must disagree. There is certainly good SD and bad HD. As I recall, the broadcast HD version of Francesco's Venice was worse than the DVD. I've just tried the WebIF with His Dark Materials, and the result is definitely bad SD. There's no comparison with 4k streaming on BBC...
I haven’t seen any issues yet, possibly because I've only been using the standard short press. I think the spinning wheel might be more persistent. The DTR-T1000 did lock up several times, requiring a full reset and sacrifice of recordings. For what it’s worth, the old remote works to some...
The letter states my "new off-peak hours" are 00.30-07.30 and 01.30-08.30. The worst of it is I've not used the storage heater for years. There's no point in paying to be uncomfortable in a different way.
I've never experienced a satisfactory heated environment, and I can remember the Winter...
Funnily enough, Southern Water don't seem to ever got around to installing any of these devices. It must have dawned on them, without further prompting by me, you couldn't send a midget to drive through corridors on a unicycle opening 50 odd ceiling hatches and preserve your credibility. My...

I acquired a new fridge freezer about ten years ago. The result was an immediate and highly visible drop in consumption, which was good for me and presumably the environment. My Aura doesn't heat the room to the extent the DTR1000...
I do have a letter which refers to a radio network being phased out, without specifying Radio 4 Long Wave. I am having a problem with my Epson scanner at the moment. This may be resolved by upgrading to Groovy Gorilla (sic.), which I hesitate to do because of issues on the old desktop. It...
The latest update seems to be October 2019.
-Most of the people who are happy are putting the equivalent of shillings in the meter. They would be. I remember writing out cheques for bags of 5p pieces.
-“Some smart meters over record the power used by up to 250% and some under record by 40 %...
