Many thanks af123 (and all the others who contributed) I have the webif running, great!
Probably too late now to start getting into the features at 22:50.
Hi af123, i tried as ezra pound suggested and found that only one service is running "mongoose".

Thanks af123, it installed without problems, see below, but I cannot see what I need to do now to get the webif going - still getting a directory list when I browse to the HUMAX.
Ho Hum, I am starting to lose heart and I get the feeling that I am upsetting forum moderators by not posting...
Thanks af123, I tried the install again and got a failure at the same module, this time the download timed out. The log is :-

Hi xyz321,
I have tried the command you suggest and get the output below. The various installs proceed very rapidly, I can here the Hummy's disc working to install but it stops at the package indicated.

Sorry I have taken so long to respond, I have been having a Scottish New Year!
I have run "
cat /tmp/modinit.log
" as suggested by xyz321 and the output (I am unfamiliar with Putty and
how to collect the output from its window so the command got run twice) is as follows:-
Menu version 1.07...
I have a similar problem with installing the full web interface as PaulTheOldBarn. The install failed ("hangs/loops") at installing tfmenu, and when I try to connect to the HUMAX I now get a list of folders/directories. Telnet works fine.
I installed the custom firmware (CFW) to resolve the...
The link to the HDR Fox T2 manual (above) is out of date, perhaps HUMAX have moved it, they want users to register in support .
Does anyone know where an electronic copy of the manual may be found?
I have completed a re-run of fix-disk and let that run through to completion. The system is now running as normal with no "deleting" message or grey-out menu items. (Funny aspect display on my TV but that's nothing to do with this problem and I can fix that myself.)
Many thanks to ezra pound...
Hi ezra, I have looked into the library/file system and the only files in the library you indicate are one named "2" and another - "hostname". Perhaps the rm command has indicated the wrong library? I will try to locate the "maintenance.boot" file and remove (which I presume is the UNIX delete...
For no obvious reason I can now access the Hummy using telnet but when I try ezra pounds commond I get "can't remove /var/lib/humax....."
Should I try fix-disk again?
The Hummy is now displaying "MAINTENANCE" on the front panel, instead of the 00:00, 00:001 etc. it was displaying before.
I get sound but no picture and the Hummy will still not respond to the remote control, so I can't get in to Menu/system/settings etc.
Now fixed, see below.
I have tried the suggestions from both ezra pound (the system does not give me a prompt to allow the rm command), and prpr ( "Network error: Connection timed out" from PUTTY).
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Can I do a factory reset using the button on the front panel/switch off&on?
I am...
Hm...., the hummy is stuck in maintenance mode (MM)and won't respond to the remote beyond powering down to/up from standby.
I've tried powering off and back on but this does not change the status out of MM.
Oh dear. Would reloading the firmware be worth trying, or would that be ignored as it is...
Thanks for that clarification. I will definitely not Format therefore.
Is the only option to do the factory reset? If so, would you point me to the relevant instructions?
Many thanks.
Hi, I hope this is the right forum to post this.
I am new to hummy.tv but have been using a HDR Fox T2 for about 2 and 1/2 years without problems until about 2 weeks ago when I noticed that deletion of recordings did not free up any disc space. I looked on this forum and AVforums and found that...
