Aura keeps jumping out of playback

For the past 3 months I've had a problem that my Aura keeps jumping out of playback. When it does this, I get the white circular arrow as if it's rebooting. Then i'm back at the main screen. When I go back into the playback menu, the program I was watching is listed as if I hadn't watched it. Some days it doesn't do it at all, other days it's doing it every couple of minutes. It does it more frequently when something else is recording at the same time. However the program being recorded is unaffected.

I've verified that the recordings are ok. For instance, if a program was repeatedly quitting one day, I can go back in another day and watch it without interruption.

Have you tried actually rebooting the Aura? Sometimes it works miracles, often it doesn't.
Then there's the one that many people think doesn't work, but I think it might. Turn the Aura off. When you're sure the disk has stopped spinning withdraw the mains plug, wait a sort while, plug in switch on and see how it behaves. Neither of these options should affect the schedule, the channels or existing recordings.

As above if you have not done a full power cycle on the Aura, Long press on Power button on remote then select OK on screen.
Give it at least 5 minutes to make sure it has fully shut down, unplug.
After two minutes plug in, the Aura will go through the start up procedure.
You should see the Humax logo onscreen followed by the Android loading animation.
Screen should then go blank for about two minutes before you see the white rotating circle/ arrow,
that's the Humax own system loading should take a minute or two.
Give the Aura time to settle and load up the EPG and then try playing recordings.

How much space is left on your HDD, you should always leave at least 10% free so the Aura can do it's 'housekeeping' and have room for the live playback buffer.

If no further forward you may need to consider a Factory Reset.

When Humax release the updated software there will be a marked improvement to the stability of the Aura, not perfect but a great deal better.

Is it April 1st already? If you were American I bet you would have voted Trump in for a second term.

Edit. I just e.mailed a guy at Humax who has been quite helpful in the past and asked about the present situation with the update, hopefully I will get an honest answer as simple blind faith is just not acceptable.

What, after all this time they still haven't made it work properly? How useless are they?
That depends on what you mean by work properly. It's also possible that some Aura's work better than others. Although we will never know. Some users are super critical and others make do and find workarounds, where possible. It's not limited to the Aura. The 9150T/9300T had the skipping "Family Guy" problem that was never solved.
"How useless are they?" - They are certainly useless now, perhaps they were less useless in the past. Like many companies, once they have your money they don't give a :poop:.

When, when, when, it's been almost two years since this update was first rumoured to be in the pipeline.
I think we already passed the 2 year mark when it was first mentioned on the other site and expected to be ready just after Christmas 2024

Hive up with this rubbish box. It promised to be one of the best PVR's, but Humax just abandoned it once they had conned us. I'm moving over to a Manhattan

I had a Manhattan T3-R, and it was far worse than any Humax PVR that I have ever owned, so good luck if you decide to go with a Manhattan.

I had a Manhattan T3-R,
We had some Manhattan receivers (possibly Plaza) lots of years ago. They were hugely unreliable so I replaced them all with HD Fox T2 units, which have been extremely reliable. They went several months without needing any attention i.e. power cycling due to crash/lockup. There was more chance of a power outage than anything else to cause a reboot.
