[CFW 2.19/1.03.06] Custom firmware for version 1.03.06

I have released custom firmware version 2.19 for Humax version 1.03.06.

This version can be safely applied directly to any HDR Fox-T2 running Humax firmware version 1.02.20 or above including those which originally came from Humax with 1.03.06 pre-installed. It is also safe to apply this to either of the two HDR Fox-T2 models that are in circulation, the HDR-FOX T2/GB and the HDR-FOX T2/GB/RE.

It's available from the usual download page at http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Firmware_Downloads

If anyone installs this on a /RE model, I'd be interested in whether there is any difference from a standard model in the output of cat /proc/meminfo and cat /proc/cpuinfo.

I have come across my first problem trying to install ir
Code:
>>> opkg install ir

Installing ir (1.07) to root...

Downloading http://hummypkg.org.uk/hdrfoxt2/base/ir_1.07_mipsel.opk.

Humax software version: 1.03.06

This package requires CFW 2.11 or above with Humax firmware 1.02.20, .27, .28, .29 or .32.

Collected errors:

* pkg_run_script: package "ir" preinst script returned status 1.

* preinst_configure: Aborting installation of ir.

* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package ir.
Possibly it just needs the package updating.

All seems to be OK so far, apart from portal-xtra1 not working as mentioned HERE. Hopefully this can be made to work with this firmware.

Any difference in the contents of those files (compared with an old hardware model)?

Posted on the move; please excuse any brevity.

Sorry, yes they're telnet commands. I can stick them into a diagnostic if it's easier.

So is this looking good for the GB boxes or should I wait?
I'm itching to get access to my videos and work remotely over the network.

Installed on my old HDR and seems fine so far.
Portal is a hell of a lot quicker and yes, it uses the new iplayer version :)
Nice one af123

af123, was there anything of interest in the results of cat /proc/meminfo and cat /proc/cpuinfo that I posted in #10.

The only differences I could see between your results and an HDR running 1.02.32 was the following :-
Code:
meminfo differences
MemFree: 5468 kB
Buffers: 34908 kB

No - seems the hardware is the same, at least in terms of CPU and memory. Might be able to see more when I release CFW 2.20...

Great stuff, working well on 'old' unit with iPlayer / portal looking good. I wonder if that means the new browser could handle the other catchup services regardless of whether humax make them available (like the general browser in xtra portal before?)
