Foxsat-HDR - New/Updated Package Download

Sorry, please ignore my last post, which concerned my Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview box, irrelevant to this thread.
My Foxsat HDR has the 1.00.21 firmware. I found the Package Management tab, but when I clicked 'Update package list from Internet' I got:
"wget: bad address 'hpkg.tv'
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz.
Collected errors:
* opkg_download: Failed to download http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.
Updating package meta information."
I now see I reported this on Oct 7, 2023 and 'prpr' said I'd been "bleating on about this for the last 4.5 years"!

I then tried the Upgrade tab and got a list of three, which all failed to download, with a message that perhaps I need to run opkg update. Where is that?
 
Default Authority updated

Update your package list in the usual way for the package(s) listed in the "Package Management", "Upgrades" tab.

Remember to reboot the Foxsat-HDR after updating your package list to pick up the updated Default Authority data.
 
To David500 - you have posted 33 entries all fairly identical to the one above. Could you spell out in baby language what you mean by "the usual way". If I followed it maybe I can avoid further attacks from prpr!
 
@Dave W Update your package list by going to "Package Management" on the WebIf's home page or from the row of icons at the top of each page if these have been enabled. Click the "Update package list from internet" tab. Close the "Package Management Results" window and the "Default Authority" file will have been updated automatically. You have to reboot the Foxsat-HDR to load the updated file. The Default Authority file provides data to enable recordings to be set from the WebIf.

IIRC, 10 years ago you said your Foxsat box was connected to a wireless device of some kind, but it wasn't connected to the internet, while your PC was also connected to some other wireless device which allowed access to the internet and to your box. I don't really understand (or care) what the architecture is of your internal network, and I don't expect you to provide any more meaningful detail as I suspect you don't really know how it's connected or configured and it's just something you lashed together which appeared to half work.

It is a fundamental requirement that the box is connected to the internet if you want it to be able to download stuff from it. Surely this is not too taxing a concept, even for someone of your obvious mental deficiency. You'll probably be upset at this, but if you review your own messages, you'll see you've been bleating on about the exact same thing on and off for all of those 10 years. What normal thinking person does this?

You've been told before to fix your network, but you don't want to, don't know how to, or can't be bothered to. Then time passes and you just ask the same old questions all over again.
FFS, fix it once and for all, or shut up and go away.

(I really don't know why I've just wasted my time writing this, because I know nothing will change.)

Thanks for spelling it out. Unfortunately 'Update package list from Internet' gives:

Putting just hpkg.tv into my browser gives:
This site can’t be reached
hpkv.tv’s server IP address could not be found.

Ookla speedtest: Download 31Mbs, Upload 9Mbps, via BT broadband which is adequate for my needs.

However, if I put http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz into my browser I get the file OK. The list of packages contains a few which are later versions of my existing ones. When connected to the Humax I click on the Upgrade tab and click on one item e.g. http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/webif-docs_1.16_mips.opk it fails in the usual way, but if I put that address into my browser I can download the file. But I can't find a way of actually installing it in the Humax.
 
This underlines what we've been saying. Something about your networking configuration is preventing the Foxsat from accessing the Internet. You need to fix it to make it work, which you don't seem prepared to do. Check the networking settings in the Foxsat, make sure they have valid entries (IP address, net mask, gateway, and DNS). The easiest way to do that is set DHCP (rather than manual) and "apply".

In post #60 you state the above. Why isn’t the Foxsat-HDR connected directly to the internet so that it can download and install the various updates?
Can you temporarily use a long CAT5e cable to link the Foxsat-HDR to your network?
Or as I do use a TP-Link RE220 WiFi extender or similar. This is plugged in close to the Foxsat-HDR and connected to your Foxsat-HDR with CAT 5e cable?

He's been bleating about this for a very long time, we've explained why wget fails, but he seems unwilling to take the necessary steps and then comes back saying the same thing over and over again. That's why prpr looses his rag, and I'm close to blocking him.
