I’ve had WiFi switched off since yesterday evening.
This morning I notice my overnight recordings again have no programme titles.
The TV guide is still Freely style numbers but for most channels inc HD fully updated up to 10th March 7 days ahead with programme information, many others like BBC One & Two 800, Film 4, ITV 2 & 3 are only updated to later on this morning and shows no sign of updating any time this lifetime. The signal is very good with no digital artefacts or break up. The box has been switched on for one hour.
So I thought I would try an Automatic Channel Search to see if it would update to a Freeview style numbering system and update the guide. No dice. Quote
“Cannot start channel scan while recording is in progress. Please try after recording is finished.”,
but - you guessed it - there are no recordings in progress at all.
So I in plugged it for a minute and plugged it back in again. It still claims I am recording something and won’t let me do a channel scan of any sort, but it has immediately fully updated the channels that were previously not updated - and for the next 7 days (again in Freely numbering style) but simultaneously deleted the programme information for all the other channels that were previously OK, and now they won’t update past this morning. I thought this must be something to do with me changing from watching BBC One HD to Sky News, so I switched back, but no change at all.
There’s obviously a bit of a programming fault with this box, you can’t even search for a software update, it just immediately says “OTA update failed”.
It’s just a lot of trouble for no apparent reason, it will waste hours of your time and make you very annoyed. I advise anyone not to buy it.
