Ah, I now see the alternative possibility
, but as his post followed immediately after mine in which I said to switch it off at the mains, I natrually assumed that his "off for 24 hours" meant that it was off at the mains. But there is room foe misunderstanding because of the 'off at the mains' and 'standby off which isn't really off' situation.
