Input 2 not detected

When resetting to manufacturer setup, the tuner wizard only detects one cable instead of two.

All cables and connexions from the LNB test out OK.

The signal to Input 2 is not detected at all.

Can anyone suggest a fix, either in settings or a physical repair?

A detailed visual inspection should be done first, specifically in your case the satellite sockets on the back of the box.

Try manually setting "Two Cable (Different)" in the hidden setup menu...

• On the remote, press [Menu] button
• Use up/down direction keys on remote to go to the Setup icon (looks like satellite dish)
• Press right direction key on remote to go to the section starting with "Freesat Tune" (so it's highlighted yellow)
• On the remote press [Red], [Green], [Yellow], [Blue], [Green], [Yellow], [Blue]
• Select Antenna Setting
• Change connection type to "Two Cable (Different)"
• Follow your nose from there...

My #2 box did this a few months ago. I swapped the LNB inputs over and it did the same again. So I deduced that LNB2 input had packed up. Out of devilment I patched LNB1 OUT to LNB2 and it works (albeit recording/viewing is limited).

Easy to bend the pin over in a F-plug / not insert it fully in a socket: especially with the thin shotgun XX65 type. Cheap copper-clad steel cored stuff may not supply enough DC from the second tuner to power LNB, possibly?

Easy enough to re-make most F-plug ends and usually a good idea to check them thoroughly.

Of course a full mains power reset sometimes cures all ills.
