LNB Compatibility

No, it would need the traditional hi-band/lo-band switching. I don't know whether wideband LNBs also implement switching, I suspect not.

No. Wideband has all H on one cable all V on the other.
Universal aka legacy LNB or a single cable SCR LNB mode is catered for for some Communal antenna systems (via the -HDR setup menu somewhere).

SOME Q installs had 'Hybrid' LNBs with both Wideband and Universal ports... earliest auto sensed (poorly) later had dedicated ports.

If there is a wideband lnb installed on the dish already a few clear close up pictures will help identify... especially if the LNB make / model plate can be read.

When I saw the H & V ports I thought I couldn't use it and now I know.

Thanks.

The block of 45 retirement apartments my aunt lives in has a larger than normal dish with quatro LNB feeding all 4 hi/lo H/V bands to a distribution system. Each apartment gets two feeds and I believe (but have not verified) the distribution system responds to the hi/lo H/V signalling and sends the appropriate signal from the quatro LNB. Both feeds also have UHF TV and FM/DAB radio on them. There have been one or two complaints about Sky Q not working on it, unsurprising since the system was never designed to accomodate Sky Q and indeed was built before Sky Q existed. My aunt uses an HDR Fox T2 on this system.

All $ky boxes (Sky+ on) have a dSCR mode that is enabled via their intsaller menu...
$ky routinely fitted boxes to provide a single cable dSCR connection to allow multiple tuners in those boxes... and moved subscriber cables to suit. {Where only single feeds to dwellings from the head-end were available.}
Presumably with the Building Management approval (or maybe not) ;)
Outlets were/are auto sensing so will provide either dSCR or Legacy feeds on the single cable outputs.

dSCR multiswitches are now as common as muck -- and allow UHF/FM/DAB and dSAT (via dSCR or Legacy/universal signalling) all down one cable to a filtered wallplate in the dwellings. Some of the earlier ones had a mix of dSCR/legacy and Legacy only (and some may still be available like that).

My aunt uses an HDR Fox T2 on this system.
Well that's a UHF Terrestrial aka Freeview box not satellite.
Of course it'll work via the UHF TV antenna that feeds in to the multiswitch.
But not from the Quattro LNB feeds!

I attempted to find a clear explanation of dSCR online and failed, finding a lot of contradictory information.

As for dSCR/legacy, this system was installed about 20 years ago when the retirement apartments were built and has not been touched since. I doubt very much it supports anything newer than Hi/Lo and H/V on each of the two feeds to each apartment. And there is no money to support any such change since only a handful of the residents use satellite.

I added that to explain why I haven't actually tested the satellite feeds.
